Hooded Priest
Hooded Priest was founded in the spring of 2006 as a doomed collaboration pact between members of Dutch and Belgian metal-outfits Witchsmeller Pursuivant, Zwartketterij, Grimm and Wapenspraak & Drinkgelag. These musicians had been in contact with eachother since the mid-nineties through the honourable and highly esteemed Committee of Metalheads with an Unbelievably Low Sense of Humour (abbreviation in Dutch: CMOLH) and were now seeking to create the ultimate bizarre fusion between screaming blackened hardrock-guitars and doomed rock ‘n roll. The band started out as a classic heavy metal four-piece, yet soon recruited contrabass-player Otto Von Zelst to add to the dynamics of the compositions with a deep darkened bass-pulse and psychotic percussion-picks. Now, at the end of 2007, the band has created a considerable number of songs and is ready to record its first demo-tape, which will be called “Death and deliverance”. Subsequently, many a stage will sink under the weight of its doom in the course of 2008!
